With the smell of mince pies and fir trees in the air, BankSearch paused a moment this festive season to take stock of last year’s achievements and look forward to the year ahead.
For BankSearch, 2013 was a busy year of change and growth. We moved to larger offices, welcomed new Developers to our team and continued to work with our clients to achieve their information needs.
This ongoing process of speaking with and listening to our clients has seen BankSearch attend key events the world over. In June, BankSearch was invited to present a paper at the 23rd Annual Conference of Regional Central Banks’ Information Specialists held in Barbados – a crucial forum to share and debate the latest technological innovations and applications for Central Banks in the Caribbean. We also attended the SDMX conference in Paris in September and joined the Lord Mayor of the City of London’s high-level Business delegation to Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar, in October.
Thanks to these discussions and the feedback received we introduced substantial improvements to several of our key product ranges. Notably, we extended the data validation, scheduling and approvals processes in our Online Global Data Capture System and Interactive Database. We also, significantly, introduced granular and transactional data gathering enabling our systems to handle virtually any data source.
Our Business Start-up Data Service goes from strength-to-strength every year with over 40% of all Local Enterprise Partnerships having at least one authority subscribing and notable users including Prime Minister David Cameron. We also introduced a directory of new company registrations by size of firm to further enrich the data.
Our staff are the backbone of our success and last year we were very pleased to welcome several new Developers to our team. Using their skill, knowledge and passion they are helping to continually enhance our leading software as well as tread new paths in the development of exciting new projects (more details to come in 2014!).
2013 saw several major catastrophes occurring around the world. At BankSearch we are very aware that lives can be uprooted in an instant and so chose to support two charities: the Disaster Emergency Committee Appeal on behalf of the people of the Philippines and the Save the Children: Syria Appeal.
