The first half of this year saw a flat number of businesses starting up in Wales compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to latest data from a BankSearch survey.
In June 2011 the average number of start-ups per Welsh district was 92. The median level of starts was 83 and the minimum and maximum number of starts across the districts was 33 and 253 respectively.
In Wales 2,018 new businesses started up in June 2011, 35 more than the previous month.
