Signs are looking positive for businesses across the borough following the release of figures revealing that 2,920 new business accounts were opened from January to November 2010 in Bromley.

Data from BankSearch, who provide information relating to new businesses across the UK, indicate a 19.2% increase on the same period in 2009. Bromley Town ward showed the highest number of accounts opened, with 244 in the first 11 months of 2010, and Copers Cope ward in Beckenham close behind with 220 recorded.

“Even in these difficult times, Bromley is a fantastic place to do business with great transport links and skilled workforces. These positive figures reflect a supportive environment for local business and we would like to encourage anyone considering starting their business in Bromley. Our events supporting local businesses were very popular last year so why not keep an eye out for the initiatives we will be running in 2011, including Boost Your Business events, and our Bromley Business Guide and Directory” said Martin Pinnell, Head of Town Centre Management and Business Support.
