2012 – Centrepoint

Amelia climbs Mount Kilimanjaro

Fundraiser: Amelia Anderson

Dear All,

On the 17th June I will be flying out to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the charity Centrepoint.

In this last year alone 80,000 young people experienced homelessness.

Centrepoint gives homeless young people a chance to turn their lives around, build firm foundations and prepare for a future where they realise their potential. This weekend I visited two of their service centres in Soho to learn more about their inspiring work and to see for myself how the charity supports over 1,200 young people a year in London and the North East.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a personal goal I set myself about a year ago after a particularly challenging (and rewarding!) rock-climbing session. With now only 62 days to go my training is progressing very well and I am confident that I will complete the 6 day trek to reach Uhuru peak – ‘The Rooftop of Africa’ – at 5,895 m (and make it back down again!).

I would be very grateful for any support you are able to provide as every penny really does help to change a young person’s life.

Thank you so much for your generosity.

With my very best wishes,

 Amelia x
